the rose bowl!

WOW.

What a fucking AWESOME football game that was! Hook 'em, Horns! My Austin editor is going to be THRILLED. My roommate a little bit, too. ;-D

And I think I can hear the whining from USC all the way from here. *g* HA-HA! [/Nelson]

I may be a California native, but I'm also a product of public schools. The University of Spoiled Children can bite me!

ETA: The Longhorn fans singing (what I assume was) their fight song at the end of the Rose Bowl, loud enough for EVERYONE to hear it, got to me. I lurrrrrrrve fight songs. So, I had to break out the commemorative championship DVD that my mom got me for Christmas to see if our band played the fight song at the end of our championship win in April. Because, honestly, I don't remember much about that moment other than screaming and jumping up and down. And they showed the pom-pom suit guy at the Dean Dome. But ANYWAY, I could hear snippets of Carolina Victory and the fight song in the background of this "condensed" version of the championship game, which showed about 15 seconds of the celebration! I call BS! They got me good and crying again, and then they cut me off?!? Ohhhhh, this will not do. *surfs to Johnny T-Shirt for some rectification*

HEE. This made me laugh SO hard, despite the fact that I work and live with USC grads and hope to continue to date one :P

I didn't realize until that final drive just how much I wanted USC to lose. And I've seen Vince Young lead a comeback in person, so I knew it would happen.

And if all USC fans are like Matt "I still think we're a better football team" Leinart, then I will join in the Nelson laughing.

And go public schools!

That's exactly why I wanted them to lose. All of the arrogance leading up to this game, plus the fans' attitude when they beat us in basketball a few weeks ago -- like they were now the second coming of the NCAA messiah because they beat a completely different team than the one that won the championship last year -- is what pushed me over the edge.

Ahhhhh. That's what makes this so sweet.
